Professional Development

Too many people attend a conference only to show up the day of the conference, learn a few things, maybe collect a business card or two, and leave no better connected than before.

The most valuable part of a conference is the connections you make. The lessons and speakers teach valuable tools that may change a small portion of your professional daily habits or influence your long term goals. But if done effectively, connecting with those presenters, and your fellow attendees could add value for the rest of your life.

In preparation of our Remote Workforce Summit earn tips to connect with people and plan you experience before the event. Gain valuable connections, and partnerships while at the conference, and stay connected and leverage the partnerships well after.

Who: Job seekers, entrepreneurs and freelancers, and leaders.

When: Wednesday,May 1, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Zoom link will be emailed after registering.

However, after meeting the USU team, they guided us smoothly through the process. Despite our limited tech skills, we now have a working website, making our products available to a wider online audience. It's a thrilling step forward for us, and we highly recommend this program to any business looking to expand its reach.”

How to navigate feelings of loneliness as a remote worker

Navigating the shift to remote work can bring challenges, from managing work/life balance to wrestling with feelings of isolation and loneliness. Yet contrary to what headlines might suggest, loneliness isn’t just a remote work problem; it’s a global epidemic affecting nearly a quarter of the world’s population.

Ali Greene explains why relying on outdated team-building methods just won’t cut it anymore, and provides three strategies remote workers can use to combat isolation while building their professional community.

Remote work has reshaped urban transportation patterns

A new analysis from MIT researchers found that for every 1% decrease in onsite workers relative to pre-pandemic norms, automobile vehicle miles driven decreased by roughly 1%, but mass transit ridership decreased by 2.3%.
