Call for presenters

We're organizing a virtual conference that will feature talented speakers on topics related to remote work, leading distributed teams, and leveraging remote work to attract talent.

If you are an expert or leader in remote work, we invite you to submit a proposal for presentation at our event, Beyond the Office: Thriving in the World of Remote Work.

We're seeking experts in human resources, leadership practices, developing remote work skills, and employee well-being in remote work. If you're selected as a presenter, you'll have the opportunity to speak for 20-40 minutes, sharing your insights and knowledge with an audience of forward-thinking professionals. To apply, prepare a short written abstract outlining your proposed presentation, and if you're interested in being a keynote speaker, be sure to specify that in your application.

Additionally, please upload a two-minute video briefly introducing yourself and explaining what your presentation will be about. The video will help the selection committee to see the way you present and will increase your chances of being selected. Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of shaping the future of remote work.

Rural Co-working and Innovation Center Grant Program

The Rural Co-working and Innovation Center (RCIC) grant is funding that provides community business facilities and equipment for individuals that work remotely from rural communities. An example is the Business Technical Assistance Center in Price, a dynamic co-working space and the perfect setting for a growing business to flourish. The modern workplace necessitates collaboration, where the common areas and conference rooms in our co-working space are the perfect places to brainstorm and buckle down. Other RCIC’s in Utah include:

  • Blanding
  • Brigham City
  • Cedar City
  • Escalante
  • Green River, Utah - iHub
  • Hanksville
  • Junction Town
  • Moab
  • Monticello
  • Orangeville, Utah - iHub/Business Center
  • Panguitch, Utah - USU Extension Innovation Center
  • Price, Utah - BTAC Remote Work Hub
  • Roosevelt City
  • Vernal - Innovation Hub

Elon Musk now supports remote work (we had a feeling he would come around)

As part of ongoing cost-cutting measures, Twitter is shutting down its Seattle offices and its leadership in Singapore have instructed employees to work remotely. That’s despite Musk’s past claims that remote workers are only “pretending to work” and banning remote work at Twitter upon taking it over last November.

So what explains his change of heart? Apparently, it’s the costs associated with the company’s Seattle office, including rent but also services such as cleaning and security to name a few.

Tweet of the week

In toxic cultures, you have to burn out to earn a break. Time off is how you recover.

In decent cultures, you take a break when you're low on gas. Time off is how you refuel.

In healthy cultures, you're expected to take regular breaks. Time off is encouraged to sustain energy..
