ROI Success Story

Our partner of the month is Barbara Mumm of the West Desert Chamber of Commerce. The West Desert Chamber of Commerce works to support new and developing businesses, local ranches, and farms by facilitating training, information, and grants assistance.

Barbara is a graduate of the Certified Remote Work Professional course and since then has been a terrific advocate of the course and the entire ROI program. Recently, she was asked to do cheese-making demonstrations at the Homesteaders Conference at the American West Heritage Center in Logan, Utah; a seriously long drive for her. She offered to share her platform with the Rural Online Initiative to help people in rural Utah find new ways to bring in money while living rural. We took her up on it and had a great time with her over the two days of the conference.

Hybrid workers report the highest levels of belonging, followed by full-time on-site and full-time remote workers

According to PwC’s 2024 Workforce Radar report, among survey respondents, 76% of hybrid employees said they feel like they belong at their company, compared to 74% of in-person workers and 63% of remote workers. This new survey data is consistent with numerous research findings that hybrid workers generally have higher levels of engagement and retention than their fully in-office or fully remote peers.

The case for hybrid addresses missed opportunities from working entirely remotely, including a lack of mentorship and development opportunities. Need help with hybrid work planning? Consider our new Hybrid Remote Operations self-paced, 2-hour certificate course.
